Korean Reed Ornamental Grass features bold plumes of shell pink flowers rising above the foliage in mid summer. The coppery-bronze seed heads are carried on showy plumes displayed in abundance from late summer to late fall. Its grassy leaves are green in colour. The foliage often turns tan in fall. The gold stems can be quite attractive.
Mounds of narrow, green foliage create a stunning look in borders, containers or garden landscapes; tall stems emerge, producing feathery, light pink plumes in the late summer and into the fall; easy to grow and maintain.

This grass forms an upright and fairly narrow clump of feathery plumes, beginning in early fall. Flower heads start out silvery-pink, fading to more of a creamy-white tone and remaining attractive for most of the winter. Tolerates shady sites well, but also happy in a sunny border with regular moisture. Cut clumps back to just above the ground in late winter, or earlier if desired. Well-behaved with a non invasive habit. Clumps may be divided in spring every 4 to 5 years. Nice for massing or as a specimen. Flower plumes and seed heads are very good for cutting. Cool Season Grasses: These grasses do the majority of their growing in early spring and start again when temperatures start to cool in the fall. During the warmer summer months, they stop growing and some will even go dormant. Cool season grasses flower in the spring or early summer. Most cool season grasses grow best in a consistently moist soil. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
