Bubble Up beautyberry does not need a pollinator to set fruit; one plant is sufficient for a good crop. Prune, if desired, in early spring, and remove any dead wood at that point as well. Plant may experience some dieback each year in colder zones, but it will resprout from the ground and still flower and fruit that year. Callicarpa grows best in a well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Best flowering and fruiting occurs in full sun. Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Blooms on new wood; prune in winter to shape and encourage new growth. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden.
