Golden Ghost Japanese Red Pine is a showy conifer which is primarily valued in the landscape or garden for its distinctively pyramidal habit of growth. It has yellow-variegated forest green foliage. The needles remain forest green throughout the winter.
An interesting and very beautiful accent shrub or small tree, featuring variegated green and yellow needles; needle tips are bright yellow in spring and persist through summer, fading to butter; ideal for general garden use, at its best in full sun.

Golden Ghost Japanese Red Pine should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers dry to average moisture levels with very well-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. It is not particular as to soil type, but has a definite preference for acidic soils. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
