Lupinus polyphyllus MINI GALLERY | USDA Zone: 4-9 |
Colourful spikes of Lupines are an unforgettable sight in the early summer border. Plants grow best in a deep, rich soil, slightly on the acidic side. Perfect for container combinations or as standalone item in pots. As these are biennial or short-lived perennials, allow some plants to set seed for future generations, or trim back hard after flowering is over. Flower spikes are great for cutting.

Lupines really come into their own during warm, sunny days and cool nights and look especially lovely when grown in masses with similar varieties. A memorable sight for any garden lover, these beautiful plants grow into well-established clumps, with several stems rising up out of a single base. A bouquet of Lupines has no equal! Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception. NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance. |
