Green Panda Clump Bamboo is primarily valued in the landscape or garden for its interesting and distinctive form. Its narrow leaves remain green in colour throughout the year.
Attractive rusty reddish sheaths and a non-invasive root system. A perfect specimen for smaller gardens and courtyards. Leaves do not curl in the sun as with some bamboos.
This wonderful selection makes a beautiful screen or accent in the garden, beautifully architectural when mature; a non-invasive selection; attractive sheaths are rusty red; essential for the Asian style garden.

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. This bamboo grows best in an average to dry, well-drained soil, in full sun or light shade. Depending on the location in the landscape, it may need protection from the hot afternoon sun. Clumping bamboo do not spread via rhizomes, but can move sidewalk slabs etc., so position them wisely. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
