Rumba Weigela features showy clusters of ruby-red trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow throats along the branches from late spring to mid summer. It has attractive purple-tipped dark green foliage. The pointy leaves are highly ornamental but do not develop any appreciable fall colour.
An attractive and hardy spring-flowering shrub, featuring pink trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow throats, attracts hummingbirds; purple-tinged foliage is quite ornamental, but somewhat coarse and open in habit, excellent in masses; needs full sun.

The dark foliage and red flowers of this shrub make a bold statement in the landscape. Include it in the sunny mixed border, where it combines well with perennials and other shrubs. Prefers well-drained soils but highly adaptable to other soil types. Thrives in full sun in northern areas to part shade in hot summer climates. Fertilize with a slow release fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. For a formal appearance, prune annually after flowering. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
