Aster 'BLUE AUTUMN' | USDA Zone: 5-8 |
Remarkably vivid violet blue, daisy-like flowers set this aster apart from all others. It’s such an unusual color to see in the fall, so it really stood out in our trial gardens when it bloomed from late summer into mid-fall.

Asters are native to North America and are generally very easy to grow. They are terrific accents for fall blooming grasses and the changing colors of the trees. Try cutting a few of the tall, flowering stems for a fresh bouquet--bring the outdoors in. Grows best in an average to moist soil, but tolerates a wide range of soil types. Best grown in full or partial sun and is drought resistant once established. Although not required, pruning foliage in early summer will promote more branching and result in a bushier habit. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception. NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance. |
