Hosta 'Cool as a Cucumber' USDA Zone: 3-9

Cool As A Cucumber Hosta features dainty spikes of lavender tubular flowers rising above the foliage in early summer. Its attractive glossy heart-shaped leaves remain dark green in colour with showy white variegation and tinges of lime green throughout the season.

An impressive large hosta that forms a showy, cascading display of green and white variegated foliage; long, tapered, pointed leaves; spikes of pale lavender flowers in early summer; a stunning specimen in the garden or border.

Hostas are exceedingly popular perennials in today's gardens due to their versatility in the landscape. Their subtle colors, tall flower scapes, and broad, coarse leaves fill a niche in garden designs that few other plants can achieve. Their large leaves provide excellent coverage for dying bulb foliage. Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc.

Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
