Anemone 'Curtain Call Deep Rose' |
USDA Zone: 4-8 |
Curtain Call Deep Rose Anemone is smothered in stunning rose buttercup flowers with chartreuse eyes and gold centers at the ends of the stems from late summer to early fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its ferny leaves remain green in colour throughout the season. The black stems can be quite attractive.
This fall blooming variety forms a dense clump of ferny foliage, then produces intense, rose-pink, poppy-like flowers on shorter stems, making it great to use in containers; very pretty when massed in the garden or along borders as well.

Plant in full sun to part shade. This perennial needs at least four hours of sun per day. Soil should be moist and well drained. Water needs are average. It is not picky about Ph levels or soil types. Place mulch in the fall to protect against frost. Fertilizer should be applied in the spring. Deadheading is not necessary but will help the appearance if spent blooms are cleared. Japanese anemones are easy to grow when properly sited. In cooler climates, they can be grown in full sun if a consistent supply of moisture is available. This perennial spreads by means of creeping rhizomes, and new plants may appear near the original clump in the spring. They are easily transplanted if they show up where they are not wanted. This should be done in the spring. Make sure to provide a heavy mulch in the fall the first two seasons to prevent frost heaving. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception. NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance. |
