Wedding Party® Dark and Handsome Hellebore features showy nodding black cup-shaped flowers with deep purple overtones and chartreuse eyes at the ends of the stems from late winter to early spring. Its glossy oval compound leaves remain green in colour throughout the year.
This attractive variety produces vigorous mounds of thick evergreen leaves; flower stalks, held occasionally above the foliage bear showy black to black-purple flowers with yellow-green centers; an outstanding selection for shade gardens.

Dark and Handsome Hellebore does best in partial shade to shade. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil pH, but grows best in rich soils. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution, and will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
