Chelone lyonii 'Hot Lips' | USDA Zone: 3-8 |
Short spikes of rosy-pink flowers that look like a turtle's head with its mouth open delight children and other passersby in late summer and early fall. This is the kind of plant that makes a great backdrop for shorter plants in the garden all season long, and suddenly catches everyone's attention when it's in bloom.

More About Hot Lips Turtlehead |
Height: 36-40 inches |
Spread: 24-30 inches |
Flower Colour: Pink Shades |
Grows best in a moist to wet, rich, humus soil in partial shade. Pinching back the stems in early summer will help reduce the overall height and increase branching, producing more flowers in late summer. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception. NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance. |
