Hosta 'Rainbow's End' USDA Zone: 3-8

Very showy and unique hosta with extreme variegation and shiny leaves. The leaf variegation is so irregular that no two leaves look the same. The center of the leaf brightens to white during the summer. A truly stunning hosta that should be a focal point in the garden. In late summer, showy red scapes carry the dark lavender, tubular flowers.

Rainbow's End Hosta is recommended for the following landscape applications;

  • Mass Planting

Hosta thrive in a variety of soils from sandy to clay, but they prefer a humus rich soil that stays slightly moist but drains well. Apply a thin layer of good quality mulch to help retain the moisture if needed. Fertilizing hosta is not necessary but will aid your plant to achieve its full potential, or simply dress your plants with a well composted organic mulch from which it can derive its nutrients while it also helps to retain the needed moisture in your soil. Preferred pH range is 5.8 to 6.5, acidic, although this versatile perennial can tolerate a wide range of soil pH as well. Water regularly to maintain a slightly moist soil and consider watering at the root zone to prevent any leaf burn.

Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.

NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance.
