Red Twisted Willow is an ideal shrub or small tree for winter interest. Salix Erythroflexuosa displays unusual red, twisted branches that adopt shades of orange as they age. Yellow spring catkins are followed by bright-green, lance shaped foliage, falling in the autumn to reveal the colourful, twisted, architectural stems.

More About Red Twisted Willow |
Height: 10-25 ft |
Spread: 8-12 ft |
Willow does not require much care or fussing about to thrive. Simply pick out a sunny spot in the garden, and make sure that the soil in which it grows is moist or wet. Not unlike most willows, this cultivar also prefers boggy, damp conditions. Routinely remove dead branches or congested stems. In case you want to encourage more new growth and revitalise your Salix Erythroflexuosa, hard prune it - but only if the cultivar is over 2 years old. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception. NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance. |
