Peve Tijn Serbian Spruce is a dwarf conifer which is primarily valued in the landscape or garden for its ornamental globe-shaped form. It has attractive green foliage with silver undersides and tinges of gold which emerges yellow in spring. The needles are highly ornamental and remain green throughout the winter.
A small, dense mounded shrub, that forms a neat, compact evergreen ball; needles have a golden cast, especially in full sun; quite adaptable and an excellent choice for form and texture in the garden composition, justifiably popular.
Globe-shaped when young, this superb rock garden plant develops multiple leaders and an upright, broad shape with maturity.

Golden Dwarf Serbian Spruce should only be grown in full sunlight. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is quite intolerant of urban pollution, therefore inner city or urban streetside plantings are best avoided, and will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception.
