Nepeta faassenii 'Walker's Low' | USDA Zone: 3-8 |
Walker's Low Catmint has masses of beautiful spikes of lightly-scented royal blue flowers with lavender overtones rising above the foliage from late spring to early fall, which emerge from distinctive rose flower buds, and which are most effective when planted in groupings. Its small fragrant pointy leaves remain grayish green in colour throughout the season.
When Nepeta's stems are broken, they release an aroma into the air that tends to attract cats, thus its common name, Catmint.

More About Walker's Low Catmint |
Height: 24-36 inches |
Spread: 18-24 inches |
Flower Colour: Purple / Blue Shades |
Walker's Low Catmint does best in full sun to partial shade. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations, and should do just fine under typical garden conditions. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. Walker's Low Catmint is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor pots and containers. It is often used as a 'filler' in the 'spiller-thriller-filler' container combination, providing a mass of flowers against which the thriller plants stand out. Note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag - this is to be expected. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. Be aware that in our climate, most plants cannot be expected to survive the winter if left in containers outdoors, and this plant is no exception. NOTE: Some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to people or pets if touched or ingested. If you require more information before placing an order, please let us know in advance. |
